Research Directions
Mainly focuses on study of pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and discovery of novel therapeutic strategies for AD, vascular dementia (VaD) and ischemic stroke. The recent research interestsof Dr. Zhang’s group are to identify and validate key drug targetsagainst Aβ oligomer associated aberrant signaling pathway, as well as developing potential drug candidates for the treatment of AD or ischemic stroke based on eitheractive natural productsor important therapeutic targets (AChE, Aβ , PSD95-nNOS, SIRT).
