简历:

余学奎,于1986、 1992和1999 年分别获得武汉大学、华西医科大学和中山大学学士、硕士和博士学位。从1996年至2008年,在美国德州大学休斯顿医学院病理和实验医学系,担任博士后、科学家和助理教授从事病毒和其它生物大分子三维冷冻电镜结构研究。从2008年至2017年,在美国加州大学洛杉矶分校微生物、免疫和分子遗传学系,担任助理教授和项目科学家从事病毒和其它生物大分子高分辨率三维冷冻电镜结构研究。2017年,全职回国加入中国科学院上海药物研究所,并入选中国科学院“百人计划”。现任上海药物研究所研究员、上海药物研究所冷冻电镜平台(筹)负责人。

科研成果:

余学奎在世界上第一个提出 "shiny particle” 的概念并以其作为判断冷冻电镜成像质量的依据。这一概念一经提出,就迅速在世界上流行开来并得到冷冻电镜领域的一致认可。余学奎测定了世界上第一个近原子分辨率的病毒三维冷冻电镜结构 (Nature, 2008)。 2015年,余学奎采用冷冻电镜技术,揭示了双链RNA病毒的转录调节机制 (eLife, 2015; Nature, 2015) 。通过创新的样品制备方法和冷冻电镜技术,余学奎测定了人巨细胞病毒依壳的原子结构,这也是世界上第一个疱疹病毒依壳的原子分辨率结构(Science, 2017)。
